“Web 2.0 and its associated technologies are increasingly becoming a part of the mainstream customer experiences (…) this new world of actionable web analytics is about more than simply clickstream data (…) It also now includes qualitative behavior analysis: why do our visitors doe the things they do, and what’s the motivation.”
Read “Web Analytics” by Avinash Kaushik.
“More prediction and less reporting. It’s obviously more useful to predict what’s going to happen than to explain what’s already happened. Prediction, however, generally requires more sophisticated analysis and data than reporting and explanation (…) a new breed of visual analytics software aims to make it easier than ever to decipher all that information.”
Read “Competing on Analytics” by Thomas H. Davenport and Jeanned G. Harris.
Speaking of metrics, this blog is getting a steady stream of 200 to 300 daily visits, having already surpassed 165,000 views. In addition to regular readers, quite a few new ones get here after clicking on links featured by consultaglobal.org, google search, wordpress, facebook, linkedin, stumbleupon and, interestingly enough, CNN.
The most popular topics happen to be about 2.0 services (i.e. free 2.0 online meeting tools) and innovation practices (i.e. Nokia’s no blueprint) according to plan. Though, I should point out that concept products (i.e. Egy’s mobile phones) have become crowd favorites. In any case, on any given day, the stats show a long tail of items registering just one view, these accounting for well beyond half of the traffic.
Consultaglobal can now be best defined as a “thinkpod”… a distant cousin of a traditional thinktank, a small operation which I would like to continue to focus on the subject of innovation. Some of you might have already noticed that “consultaglobal.org” has recently become a single webpage providing quick access to key activities as shown in the above picture.
As usual, I will welcome your comments and emails.
